"I
am again most honored that the latest Annual
General meeting of the federation held on 30th
March 2009 had elected me for the sixth time as
its President, on an unanimous vote
(uncontested). I will have to continue the
federation's programmes with greater vigour in
the ensuing years. My dream of providing the
federation with an academy I understand, is
about to be realised.
The last year has seen
the fulfillment of all our activities as
specified in the sports calendar. The lawn
bowlers continued to be committed to our
mission. The state associations, on whose
support I owe my legitimacy as the President,
have performed their job with distinction, when
called upon to host national tournaments.
This year, MLBF will host two important
international championships namely the 4th Asia
Pacific Merdeka Singles, Mixed Pairs & Triples
Championships 2009 at the Bayuemas Indoor Bowls
Stadium and the 13th Asia Pacific Bowls
Championship 2009 at Bukit Kiara Lawn Bowls
Centre both in August. May I invite spectators
to Bayuemas and Bukit Kiara to watch these
events, and give support to our lawn bowlers."
